Burps and Bogies not Bad and Bougie

Yes. I am officially obsessed with burps and bogies... well that of my son anyway. Since becoming a mum, I find hearing my son burp after a meal so satisfying and taking out his boogers with a cotton bud somewhat relaxing.

*side note*

On the subject of boogers- my son had a blocked nose yesterday and literally couldn’t breathe and I swore I would never do it but yes. I sucked out his bogey. I had to! I couldn’t see him suffering like that... I’m still gagging as I write this because as much as I love him bogey is still bogey. But hey #MumLife

Naturally, my priorities have changed and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Before having my boy (who is FIVE months old now, where did the time go) I was all about my job, my appearance, going out with friends etc. Now don’t get me wrong I’m still all about those things but they just aren’t my priority anymore. I am now busy thinking about milestones, my sons development, play groups, this wonderful platform I have created, burps and bogies...

And that’s okay!!

I knew before having him that my life would change, I just couldn’t imagine just how much it would change - for the better. I’m still me but I’m better. I’m his mum and I have a little human depending on me. I’m responsible for bringing this boy up in this world we are living in.

While my friends are going on big holidays, I’m here researching nursery vs childminders and thinking about going back to work and leaving him. I’m not bitter about it at all! Funds permitting I would love to go on holiday in general don’t get me wrong. But when you see that good nursery’s costs nothing less than £1200 a month, you will see that every penny counts and you may not be as flexible to do things you may have been able to before.

However when my boy smiles and giggles at me after a long day of “mummying” it’s all worth it!

Burps and bogies as opposed to bad and boujee. And I’m loving it.

Until next time x
